The BASSET "Train the Trainer" course is a mandatory requirement for anyone wishing to become a certified BASSET instructor in the State of Illinois. This nine-hour (one day) classroom program is designed for owners, managers, and senior employees of alcohol sales establishments as well as police agencies, municipal workers, liquor industry professionals, and independent consultants wishing to become BASSET instructors. The course will teach students the art of public speaking, setting course objectives, syllabus creation, program design and timelines, group dynamics, adult learning theory, and material research. It will also thoroughly cover the five areas of BASSET and the proper way to present your material to both on-premise and off-premise alcohol sellers and servers. Upon completion of the program, trainers will be qualified for (and assisted in) applying to the Illinois Liquor Control commission for a BASSET instructor license. This course is ideal for businesses, municipalities, and institutions where “in house” training would be advantageous both financially and logistically. In addition to the trainer series certificate, students successfully completing the program will then need to also provide the Illinois Liquor Control Commission with a fully completed BASSET program, pre & post-tests, class syllabus, timelines, and supplemental training materials before an instructor license can be issued. The great news is, as part of your tuition, we also provide the pre-formatted and completed 4-hour (on-premise) and 3-hour (off premise) classroom programs that have already been pre-approved by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission for immediate use. The programs themselves are provided in both PowerPoint format and .PDF format. Tests and syllabuses, as well as timelines are in Microsoft Word format. You will also receive hundreds of pages of supplemental 2022 training materials, multiple segment videos to use in your training program, a research resource guide, .JPG's to add to your program, and instructions for finishing and submitting your application to the ILCC.
